This year, I thought I would do something a little different compared to a standard ‘end-of-year list’. There have been plenty of awesome albums, EPs and songs released this year – so for the 24 days of advent, I will be sharing some of my favourite cuts of 2025 along with a short review of each.
Orbit Culture – Death Above Life
Orbit Culture is a band that has certainly been gaining momentum the past few years. I first came across them in 2023 whilst they were gigging with Bleed From Within and Trivium, and I have been hooked ever since. Their live show is tremendous, and they have some seriously awesome material in their back catalogue.
Death Above Life is the band’s fifth full-length offering, and it is definitely a high point for the band. Opening with Inferna, it gets things off to a mighty start and just drags you in – I was actually surprised this was missing from their set when I saw them last month because it felt like the perfect song to come onstage to, such is the song’s power. However, in any case, the album continues strongly and is a definite example of ‘all killer, no filler’ because each track brings the noise, energy and aggression.
One of Orbit Culture’s best yet!
