Ye Olde Black Metal Project Mortem Releases First Song In Thirty Years

Black Metal history is richer than what the mainstream would have you believe. For fans of Arcturus, Mayhem, 1349  and Thorns; and prequels (O’ my!) Peaceville Records (re)introduce us to Mortem. A precursor to Arcturus started by Marius Vold and Steinar Sverd Johnsen.

Formed in the nihilistic eighties. 1987 to be exact, Mortem had released one lonely demo. Titled Slow Death. And produced by Euronymous and Death. This was the only publicly available recording of the group. Until now.

2019 sees not just the rejuvination of the outfit with their debut album Ravnsvart. But Mortem will be playing at Rockstadt in Transylvania on 2nd August. With the album being released on 27th September.

The title track can be seen over on the Peaceville Records YouTube channel (link below:)
