Singled Out: This Burning Age – Elastic Heart

Following on from their first album and highly regarded four EP cycle, This Burning Age are now mining their electro influences with a cover of Sia’s Elastic Heart. Presave the track here ready to check out tomorrow!

Having really enjoyed the four EP cycle, I was excited for new material from This Burning Age, and Elastic Heart is a stunning piece of work. There’s an intriguing amount of darkness to the performance, with This Burning Age giving the song a new twist, and the passion behind their rendition is something to behold. The song draws you in, and the visuals are hypnotic in the accompanying video.

The product of frontman and writer, Friday, This Burning Age’s music is violently beautiful, bridging the electro-rock divide with startling finesse. With a desire to keep everything as “in-house” as possible, every aspect of their output is carefully curated by Friday and the band, from artwork and videos through to recording and eventual release. Drawing influence from nu-wave, post-punk, industrial and synth-pop, this Birmingham four-piece create music that’s visceral, emotive and electrifying.
