Camden Rocks 2014: Introducing Colt 45

Colt 45 2014Camden Rocks Festival is just days away now and there’s so many bands on the bill you’re guarantee to have new music to check out, no matter how old some of the acts are because that’s the beauty of a festival like Camden Rocks. But to make your planning a little easier, we figured we’d introduce some of the acts to you.

Young rockers Colt 45 from Cumbria have been rocking all over the UK and are ready to take on Download Festival in Donington. But as ever we’re going to let them introduce themselves to you.

Who are you and what do you do?

I’m Adam, I play drums in COLT 45 and make the occasional backing vocal yelp.

What venue are you playing at Camden Rocks Festival?

Brewdog (acoustic) at 7.30pm. The Enterprise (real deal) at 10pm.

What’s the best thing about playing Camden Rocks Festival?

I think the sheer number of different bands playing in so many venues, so close together, throughout one day and night. It’s just a great vibe. I mean Camden is relentlessly busy at the best of times, so having shit loads of great gigs to go and see and catching up with old friends all in the same place is pretty sweet. It’s another great line up this year so we’re looking forward to seeing some great bands. Our friends Electric River are playing right after us. It’s a good chance to make some new fans too, because every venue is packed all day long!

Who are you most looking forward to seeing play at Camden Rocks Festival?

For me, I love seeing Electric River play, but we’ve done that a lot! The Subways, Blitz Kids, Nine Black Alps, Boy Jumps Ship and Apologies, I Have None are all sets we’ll be trying to catch too.

Have you got any surprises in store for you Camden Rocks set?

We’ll be playing a good mix of old and new songs. We’ve been working hard since we finished tracking the new album (The Tide Is Turning, released 28th July on Visible Noise) on getting the newer stuff up to scratch to play live, so it’ll give us a good chance to test it out on a tough crowd before we go to Download in a couple of weeks.  Other than that, we just like getting on stage and belting out as many tunes as we can, so if you’re wanting charmed with jokes and wise-cracks, we probably aren’t for you.  If you like big hooks and big riffs though, we’ll see you down the front!

This is your chance to have your say to make people come see your set at Camden Rocks.

No Apple products used in our performance. If you like watching bands who absolutely fucking love and live for what they’re doing, then you won’t be disappointed. Some big fat choruses and annoyingly catchy melodies and riffs make the odd appearance too! Check us out beforehand at www.wearecolt45.com.

The band play an acoustic set at the Brewdog at 7.30pm and a full live set at The Enterprise at 10pm.
