Release date: 15th May 2026
Constellation Zero is the debut album from Finnish symphonic/melodic death metal Inthraced, following a handful of releases from several years ago. It is certainly testament to the phrase of ‘good things come to those who wait’, because it is a very solid and impressive piece of work.
A new discovery for me, when the promo for the album landed in my inbox about a week ago, I immediately figured I should check it out because they were going to be supporting Whispered at On The Rocks in Helsinki, which was a show I was going to be attending. And I’m so glad I did, because I was absolutely floored by how good the album was (and additionally, they were excellent in a live environment as well).
Despite only being seven tracks in duration – my only real complaint, since I’m greedy and want more – each song brings something different to the table, giving the album a lot of colour and magic as a result. From the epic opener The Revenant, right through to the satisfying closer Lost Infinity, Inthraced take you on a satisfying musical journey that you’ll want to keep on taking.
Neon Frontiers is my personal pick from the album. The introduction just immediately grabs your attention, swiftly building up until the full band kicks in and the music just hits you like a tonne of bricks as a result! There’s a very warm, round sound to the song as a whole, making the track sound absolutely massive, and the chorus just feels great to sing along to.
Considering this is only Inthraced’s debut full-length, it truly is something to behold. It’s clear that they have spent a long time honing their craft after their previous EPs in order to release a top-tier album, and it has paid off. Not even the sky is the limit for this talented band!
