Bruce Nowlin – 3rd Dimension Review

Release date: 4th July 2020

From the musically diverse mind of Bruce Nowlin comes hints at the eclectic far ranging album just over the horizon. On July 4th this Giddings, Texas artist is set to release his latest album titled 3rd Dimension, and take it from me, it is both an unexpected and surprising journey.

Recently, Bruce has released a relaxing new music video for his lead single Speak Easy, and instead of throwing us straight into the loudest parts of this wide-ranging electronic album that takes its inspirational cues from the likes of Pink Floyd, Enya, AC/DC and George Strait, Bruce Nowlin introduces us to the 3rd Dimension in a very friendly way. The video itself feels like a celebration of the beauty to be found in nature and the world around us, and during these very strange times, it comes off as a breath of fresh air.

One thing that I want to make clear about Bruce Nowlin’s new album is that you will want to give the entire album a listen before making a final opinion of his work. This is an album that cannot be judged on one song alone, as each song brings their very own color to the overall tapestry of sound.

3rd Dimension is an album that ranges from the very organic to the very digital in its composition and sound. Some songs have an electronic sci-fi-esque feel while others have a very jazzy feel, and those are just two songs off the13 track album. There is some rock in here, some prog, some classical, and it captures the spirit of the idea of a 3rd Dimension.

All in all, what Bruce Nowlin has created here is fresh and a welcome addition to the scene. Be sure to check Bruce Nowlin out on Spotify today, watch his new video for Speak Easy and set a reminder for his album release on July 4th.
