This year, I thought I would do something a little different compared to a standard ‘end-of-year list’. There have been plenty of awesome albums, EPs and songs released this year – so for the 24 days of advent, I will be sharing some of my favourite cuts of 2025 along with a short review of each.
Lik – Necro
I’m always happy to hear new music from the awesome Lik. Having first come across them properly via their fantastic second album Carnage, I’ve been a fan ever since and their brand of death metal that harks back to a more “old school” vibe whilst simultaneously sounding fresh and modern is simply excellent.
Naturally Necro is another strong offering from them. From the in-your-face powerful opener Deceased, which immediately gets things off to a fast paced start, Lik relentlessly power through ten face-meltingly awesome headbangers and don’t give you a moment to catch your breath until the closing chords of the final track Rotten Inferno ring out.
As expected, Lik absolutely delivered with this one – naturally I am very keen to catch them back at Dark Easter Metal Meeting in the new year!
