This year, I thought I would do something a little different compared to a standard ‘end-of-year list’. There have been plenty of awesome albums, EPs and songs released this year – so for the 24 days of advent, I will be sharing some of my favourite cuts of 2025 along with a short review of each.
Project Silence – Rotten
In my opinion, Project Silence can do no wrong. Great music, great live show, great people. Rotten is the band’s latest single and it’s another excellent listen.
It feels both traditional and modern at the same time, having an old-school industrial vibe whilst simultaneously sounding fresh and exciting – and makes me very eager for more new material. In fact, it could be said that Rotten sounds like both their newer and older music, bringing all elements into one single entity so it’s almost like a callback to the band’s earlier material whilst also looking into the future.
The bar has been set very high with their last full-length The Void (my AOTY from 2024) but honestly if Rotten is a teaser for what we may be able to expect from new music then I think we are all in for a treat.
