This year, I thought I would do something a little different compared to a standard ‘end-of-year list’. There have been plenty of awesome albums, EPs and songs released this year – so for the 24 days of advent, I will be sharing some of my favourite cuts of 2025 along with a short review of each.
Kelluvat Ikkunat – Kelluvat Ikkunat
Kelluvat Ikkunat is the solo project of Sammal’s guitarist Jura Salmi and it is a truly beautiful collection of songs. Managing to be both simplistic and complex at the same time, I adore all the layers and elements to each song and it’s a really engaging listen because of this.
The depth and colour is truly something else and you can really feel the emotion dripping from the lush instrumentation – this is some masterful songwriting and it just feels like it comes straight from the heart – sometimes music doesn’t need vocals to get its point across, and Kelluvat Ikkunat does this wonderfully.
A really special piece of work.
