Soundscape’s Advent 2025 Day 09: Sheep – Forbidden Fields

This year, I thought I would do something a little different compared to a standard ‘end-of-year list’. There have been plenty of awesome albums, EPs and songs released this year – so for the 24 days of advent, I will be sharing some of my favourite cuts of 2025 along with a short review of each.

Sheep – Forbidden Fields

To put things quite simply, Sheep is fucking awesome so there was no way I wasn’t going to include a song on this little list of mine! Forbidden Fields is a kickass instrumental number that goes pretty hard, with the track slowly building in dynamics until hitting you with several crushing walls of guitars and drums, whilst simultaneously keeping the repeating melody alongside it. It’s really masterful songwriting; I really enjoy the two contrasting approaches the song takes.

Although Sheep only has five songs at present, they’re five really awesome songs spanning across several different styles. The versatility throughout the different songs is awesome, so I really can’t wait to see what gets conjured up next by this talented artist. Here’s to 2026!
