This year, I thought I would do something a little different compared to a standard ‘end-of-year list’. There have been plenty of awesome albums, EPs and songs released this year – so for the 24 days of advent, I will be sharing some of my favourite cuts of 2025 along with a short review of each.
Metamalice – Symphony of the Knife
I’m a sucker for some good synthwave and an artist making some excellent material in that genre is Metamalice. Symphony Of The Knife is one of two releases from Metamalice this year (the other being the just-as-awesome EP Vampire Bane) and since I tend to lean more towards the ‘heavier’ sounding artists in the genre, this scratches the itch very nicely.
Eight tracks of awesomeness, Metamalice takes you on a wild ride from start to finish, immediately hooking you with the powerful opener Hollow Face and maintaining your interest throughout. The darker-sounding Bad Omen hits hard, and Final Girl is another high point.
With two great releases in 2025 (along with an awesome release in 2024), I am already excited to see what Metamalice cooks up in 2026!
