Soundscape’s Advent 2025 Day 03: Pithy – Agonizing Plexus

This year, I thought I would do something a little different compared to a standard ‘end-of-year list’. There have been plenty of awesome albums, EPs and songs released this year – so for the 24 days of advent, I will be sharing some of my favourite cuts of 2025 along with a short review of each.

Pithy – Agonizing Plexus

From stunning, soaring melodies on day two, to a massive slab of in-your-face noise and aggression on day three! Pithy plays brutal death metal with a definite old school vibe and it’s perfect to get your head banging along to.

Agonizing Plexus is the outfit’s debut full-length (following on from a two-track demo from last year) and if you like your music raw, to-the-point and just facemeltingly awesome then this is an album for you. Pithy takes no prisoners, simply assaulting your ears aurally right from the get-go in the best possible way.

I’m unsure if there are any plans for the band to play live shows or not (keeping my fingers crossed though, the music feels like it would go hard in a live environment) but for now, just stick this album on and listen to it LOUD!
