Finnish melodic black/folk metal sextet Vorna will be heading out to Electric Fox Studios in the beginning of May in order to record their upcoming second full length album. Tuomas Kokko will take charge on drum recordings and he will also mix the entire album.
Vorna released their critically acclaimed first full length album Ajastaika in the beginning of autumn 2013 which got amazing feedback worldwide – we billed it as an ambitious and stunning release. In addition, the band spent last autumn touring Finland (you can read our review of their show in Jyväskylä here) and are now excited about the upcoming recordings.
Their singer Vesa shared a few words about their feelings, the recordings and the actual album:
“One might say that we are in a very good mood at the moment! We’ve been working on the new song material ever since the release of our debut album Ajastaika in 2013 and now it feels that all the pieces have finally come together. Musically the new album won’t be too far apart from Ajastaika, but there still is a bunch of new elements and it really is much more coherent and finalized overall. We went to meet Tuomas Kokko of Electric Fox Studios last week to discuss about the production process. He’s a truly great guy and we shall make one hell of a record together!”
Besides the recordings, Vorna will play two Finnish shows during May 2015:
23.5.2015 Varjobaari, Tampere w/ ENTHRING + support
29.5.2015 Semifinal, Helsinki w/ KIVIMETSÄN DRUIDI, UNSHINE
