Singled Out: Ugly Love – No Model

Ugly Love No ModelUgly Love come across as a bit of a gimmick. With sketchy production and half hearted comedic lyrics, they’re writing music for fans of early My Chemical Romance, however a great band for the niche market of emo rock still left somewhere out there.

The single No Model seems to sum the band up for what they are, very generic, but so repetitive the chorus becomes imprinted like some annoying pop song. The track moves through its fazes, and just when it seems the band forgot, there it is! the unnecessary guitar solo.

Great for fans of the jokey pop punk of 10 years ago, but sadly not something the future of music seems to have a great deal of room for right now.
