The Oversight – Far From Gone Review

The Oversight - Far From GoneThe Oversight are a pop punk band with a slightly emo sound in that it’s jolly but meaningful. It’s similar to Taking Back Sunday in this nature. It’s a wonderful sound for the summer, which is perfect time for release. It’s EP full of love, loss and all the teen style angst in between. A youthful sound that’s really enjoyable.

The EP opens with an intro tracked titled Collective which builds in nature with a message. It heads into Black & White which sings about being a better man and being helped out and being yourself. It’s got a positive message with a really enjoyable vibe.

The lyrics are very clear in Love Is A Fiction and it would be a fan favourite for singing out loud. It’s a love loss track, bold but sad. The track also builds towards the end, leading to a really big scape of sound. It’s also a real toe tapper. When 5AM Turns is a bouncy number and will easily be a real crowd pleaser in a live setting also.

It’s a short EP with an opening track, but it’s a nice taster of what this band could do with a longer release and more time to really hone their sound. A promising little EP, which major potential for a live setting.

7/10
