Back at the beginning of September I was invited into the studio by one of my favourite bands, The Missive, while they recorded some new material, the full feature will come soon, but we also took the time to ask the band a bunch of random questions, with some excellent badger related ones submitted by fans of the band.
So if you want to find out who is the best cook in The Missive and what the band think of badgers then read on…
Who is the sexiest dancer in The Missive? Emma (Vocals) and Chris (Bass) simultaneously – Tom!!! (laughs)
Emma – Tom’s drunk dancing is, without a doubt, the sexiest thing you’ve ever seen in your life!
Chris – He quite possibly could have been one of the members of the YMCA in a previous life, he is so sexy!
You guys should video it and get it on youtube to prove it! Tom (Guitar) – I dont want to prove it!
Chris – The new video will just be Tom dancing!
Who’s the best cook in the band? All – Jeff!! (Drummer)
Chris – 100% Jeff
Emma – First time we ever recorded he cooked us all a big meal.
Chris – He’s really into his cooking, it’s a bit of an obsession.
Have you ever been attacked by an animal? Tom – What? collectively, as a band?
Individually, or collectively? Tom – I’ve been headbutted by a ram…
Emma – My sister was headbutted up the arse by a ram…
Tom – I must have been about 6 or 7 and i was feeding this goat loads of food and I tried walking away and the goat wasn’t happy I hadn’t given him all my food so He butted me in the back as I was walking away from him!
Who is your biggest celebrity crush? Emma – Taylor Lautner, obviously!
Tom – Zooey Deschanel

Most embarrassing clothing item you own? Emma – I threw loads of mine out the other day!!!
Chris – Emma turned up to recording studio yesterday wearing pajama’s…
Emma – They werent pajama’s, they were joggers…
Chris – They were 100% pajama’s bottoms…
Emma – I bought then so we could record in comfort…
Chris – She also owns a pair of bright gold sparkly trainers, they are quite hideous…
Emma – Chris and Mitch (Guitarist) showed up in the same T shirt yesterday, deliberately, they’d been planning it for a week!
Chris – Same T shirt, same colour jeans, same colour belt, same colour trainers and we’d both brought black flat peaks to wear..
Emma – They planned it in advance, but no-one noticed until they pointed it out!
Whats your favourite swear word? Chris – Fuck!!
Emma – I dunno, and Tom doesn’t really swear…
Chris – Tom is a respected member of society…
Tom – (laughs)
Emma – I don’t have a favourite, I don’t really swear that much…
Do you have any band nicknames? Emma – I call Jeff ‘Jeffa Cakes’ sometimes…
Chris – Mitch can be ‘Mitch the bitch’
Tom – We dont really call each other things do we?
Emma – We call Tom ‘Twm’ sometimes, thats about it.
Whats the craziest thing you’ve been dared to do? Chris – I once kissed a boy on Mitch’s 21st birthday for a pint of lemonade…
Do you want this printed?? Chris – Yeah, thats fine.. It was a free drink!
Emma – When I was at a party I was dared to make out with a microwave!!
Chris – What is it with you and microwaves? Emma was once convinced her microwave had wifi!
Emma – Mitch told me it had wifi!
We now have some badger questions! Would you rather own a fire engine or a talking badger?
Tom – That’s a tough one…
Emma – It is a tough one.. You’d be a millionaire if you owned a talking badger…You could do Bodger and Badger and train it to make mashed potato….
I think I’d go for a fire engine.. Emma – Would you really? You could buy a fire engine…
Chris – If you had a talking badger, imagine the money you could make?
Tom – It depends what the talking badger is like really, if he’s annoying or not.
Would you rather be at a roller disco full of clowns, or one full of normal people but they had badgers for skates? Emma – What the hell!??
Tom – This is amazing! Who asked these questions?
Chris – Clowns are creepy, but the badgers would be really angry if they were skates…
Emma – I think I’d rather clowns…
Chris – I think I just wouldn’t go to either…
You’ve got no choice to be honest mate… Tom – I’m going for clowns…
Chris – I think I’ll take my chance with the badgers, but I’d sit on the ledge with my feet away from the floor…
But you would have badgers on your feet as well… Chris – Good point
Who can run the fastest in The Missive? Emma – (points at Chris) I’d say you cos you’ve got long legs…
Chris – I can run fast but only if I’ve got a reason to… If I was chased by rabid badgers I’d run pretty fast…
Tom – I used to be pretty quick, but I’m not as fit as I used to be…
Emma – We should have a race, I’d probably lose…
Ok, lets end this with one last badger question – Would you rather be trapped in a room with a badger in clown make up or a clown in badger make up? Chris – Badger in clown make up straight away, clowns are just way too creepy to be trapped with…
Yeah, but then you’ve got a badger and a clown! Chris – No it’s fine, there is something about people dressed as clowns that is just strange.
The band will be releasing 2 singles in the near future so keep an eye out for that and will be playing lots of shows to promote it so make sure you check them out.
