Night Verses – Out of the Sky EP Review

For a first effort together as this unit (Night Verses were an instrumental band before they aded in The Sleeping’s Douglas Robinson), this record is stunning. It’s got a huge and passionate sound. The scape this band reaches hasn’t been seen in recent years by any other band.

The music is atmospheric and will have you nodding your head almost instantaneously. It really shows that Night Verses are capable of writing a big sounding song and could easily challenge the likes of 30 Seconds to Mars in songs that make you feel like you’re really there.

From opener From the Shadows Where I’m Low all the way through, this EP is a little bit different and exciting. Especially when track Be Happy With Yourself, I’ll Staying Here In Hell starts. The beautifully weird spin on everything is so unique and you don’t want the song to end. All the lyrics on this EP are beautifully written and give a strong sense of ‘life is what you make it’.

It’s only 4 tracks long, but it’s free to download from May 15th 2012 and therefore you definitely can’t go wrong with this EP. It would be good regardless, but the fact it’s free is even more of a bonus.

9/10
