Michelle Ellen – Tape & Glue EP Review

itunes-album-artMichelle Ellen is singer/songwriter from Wales, and Tape And Glue is her first EP.

Largely an acoustic EP so what really stands out are two things, the quality of the songwriting, and just how good Michelle’s voice is.

Opener of this 6 track EP is Upside Down, a slow burner and a great introduction to Michelle’s silky smooth voice.

Think Of Me When You Dance is more piano led and the breathy vocal melodies really make the song shine.

The title track Tape & Glue is my favourite right now, an up tempo, harmonica filled song with a killer chorus and another stunning vocal melody, and I love the line “to love you fiercely is all that I know…”.

Can You Feel It is a great song, catchy, with another infectious chorus. Final track Better Man is another set of beautiful melodies all wrapped up in a wonderfully executed song.

I do love this EP, every song is well crafted and Michelle’s voice is one of the best I’ve heard in some time. Please check it out on iTunes, and if you get the chance check out some of Michelle’s live videos on her Youtube channel.
