We first interviewed pop rockers Lennox back in 2011 and after the release of one great EP went very quiet, well, they are back with an awesome new single and video for ‘Too Young’.
The song really showcases the bands sound, it’s a brilliant and catchy piece of hard edged pop rock, topped off by the excellent voice of Kim Waterson.
We had a quick catch up with the band, who are completed by Stuie Blair on guitar, bassist Paul Armstrong and Lawrence Duckers on drums.
Lennox have been quiet for some time, what’s been going on? We’ve all had a bit of time out with our personal lives, I had a baby girl last year but got back into playing shows a couple of months later!
You have the new single ‘Too Young’ being released, where was it recorded and with who? We recorded it locally with a producer friend, we hadn’t finished writing it a week before recording but once I started putting my lyrics down it came together beautifully.
What’s the song about? It’s about not being taken seriously by others, being told how you feel and what emotions you are and aren’t allowed to feel, rather than being able to speak for yourself. And its me retaliating and standing up for who I love, how I feel and what I want for myself and no one else!
Who did you film the video with? We filmed it with James Clarke.. He’s an incredible up and coming photographer and videographer who is a pleasure to work with. He’s so dedicated, I would recommend him to anyone.
What will the rest of this year hold for Lennox? A few decent shows, some cheeky photos, and more music! We want a show in Wales, I miss it there so much.

I had the honour of interviewing them back in 2010 at The Georgian in Stockton. Unfortunately the site I worked for at the time went under and the interview never got published.
I am a huge supporter of this band and they do need their break! Someone should sign them up!
