I Fight Lions – Splendid Review

This pleasantly surprising EP by these Welsh troubadours is a refreshing experience. From the start of Splendid to end, each track is its own marvel. They’re solid and the EP doesn’t drift away from it’s purpose to entertain. The momentum and energy is admirable.

Although it’s clearly noticeable the band are influence by the Arctic Monkeys they still manage to just steer clear of being copy cats and take it in their own witty direction whilst keeping everyones attention. It’s catchy, cheerful, it’s striking and it’s going to be on repeat on a lot.

I Should Quit is an instant favourite with the vocals shining to their diverse best. Splendid is a mix of dirty guitars, foxy drum beats and dexterous lyrics. Splendid.
