Nottingham’s D.I.D (Dog is Dead) have just unveiled their eagerly-anticipated new single Fast Food, out on September 18th. The new song will also feature as the lead track on the forthcoming four-track EP, which will be available through iTunes and 10” vinyl on September 18th through Your Childhood Records.
The five piece, who released their debut album All Our Favourite Stories in 2012 to much critical acclaim, have holed themselves away in the studio over the past year crafting and recording new songs which are at last ready to be unleashed.
Lead singer Robert Milton explains:
“We’ve all got cabin fever from working hard in the studio in Nottingham and London and everyone’s been so patient whilst we’ve been hidden away. But now it’s our time and we couldn’t be more excited! Fast Food is about the petering out of a relationship. I wanted to focus on the apathetic side of things and how we cling to anything fast and easy to make us happy quickly. It’s also a comment on how easily we settle for and take what’s on offer to satisfy ourselves in the short term.”
Following on from teaser track Hotel, which streamed online last year to fans’ excitement, the Fast Food EP is the first set of new music to be released from the band since their 2012 debut, and serves as a taster for the full-length LP to follow. A full UK tour is also in the works, details to be revealed soon.
