Cardiff Music Awards 2017

Right now in Cardiff the music scene feels vibrant, vast and continually evolving. However, the latest loss of venues down Womanby Street has recently caused a rather loud stir and never has a scene felt more collective and connected than right now. The love shared over social feels never ending and that feeling carries over the Cardiff Music Awards.

Following on from the online success of CMA last year the celebration has leaped from a mere outlandish idea to a huge organisation, and it’s down to founder Ed Townend running the event who actively promotes, works and cares for the industry he’s in. Partnered with PR company River and Bear it’s seen his idea, and dreams, become a reality. Bringing a community together where thousands have cast votes, and despite it’s debut event the night went down in style.

Hosted by Made In Cardiff’s Thomas Evans the night promoted a variety of local acts; Chroma, Johnny Cage & The Voodoogroove and Astroid Boys. The evening was truly filled with passion, old friends and an overwhelming support to save Womanby Street.
The night with flying colours thanks to a verity of local hosts. Guests were also treated to rather delicious street food and a free goodie bag.
