Blue Collar Decade – Beer And Loathing Review

Blue Collar Decade Beer And LoathingBlue Collar Decade, from Bridgend are self confessed; “Foul-mouthed, booze swilled deviants” and Beer And Loathing is the bands new 5 track EP.

You get lulled into a false sense of security at the start of opener Lions Coat. With some acoustic guitar, claps and a bit of vocal before this track suddenly morphs into a punk rock attack of raw vocals and driving drums.

Title track Beer And Loathing continues in this same vein. With shouted vocals, chugging guitars and powerhouse drums; but thats not to say this isn’t without melody. The chorus is catchy as hell and a real toe tapper.

Operator Please twists and turns like a punk rock snake. It’s easily my favourite song on this EP. Whilst Sugar is another slice of bruising, aggressive punk rock complete with gang vocals and big riffs.

The band easily blend hardcore-esque passages with a punk rock ‘n’ roll sense of melody and it’s all tied together with some great songwriting and memorable choruses. It’s pretty damn impressive for such a short EP.

Beer And Loathing is available via all digital outlets right now. You don’t want to miss out on this one.
