Soundscape’s A-Z Of Bands: Zebedy

Well, we’ve done it – we’ve reached the end of our first round of bands for our A-Z feature, and what better way than to round things up with arguably the best band in the North Wales scene at the moment – Zebedy?

Having become disillusioned with the North Wales music scene a good few years back, when I stumbled upon an article about this band in the local paper, I was highly doubtful that they would interest me. Something compelled me to listen anyway and I was subsequently so impressed that I instantly preordered their debut album Exist, which turned out to be a stunning collection of thirteen awesome songs that were a perfect blend of heaviness and melody.

Forming in 2008, the band didn’t start gigging regularly until 2011, which was also the year that marked the release of their aforementioned debut album, Exist. Since then, the band has also released an EP entitled This Is My City and their second album Marionette, which we awarded a very high-scoring 9/10 – read the review here.

A band that always puts on a great show, they’re a fantastically consistent live band and are definitely worth checking out if they’re playing in your area – not only are they a technically tight band, their crowd banter is quite often hilarious!

A band deserving of your time – just be sure not to assume they took their name from a Magic Roundabout character!
