Soundscape’s A-Z Of Bands: Ygodeh

Ygodeh 2013

We’re getting quite close to the end of the first wave of our A-Z, but we aren’t slowing down just yet! This week sees us focus on Ygodeh, a synthetic death metal band currently based in London.

Formed in Daugavpils, Latvia in October 2009 by Pavel Stepanov after scrapping his previous band Disease, 2011 saw Ygodeh’s first release in the form of an EP entitled¬†Dawn Of The Technological Singularity.

Last year, the band released a video for their own unique take on Death’s track Symbolic, in memory of Chuck Schuldiner. Check it out below!

2013 also saw the release of their album The Experiment Interrupted, an adventurous release that really played on their strengths – we described it as a very unique and refreshing listen – different enough to get noticed, but accessible enough for the band to appeal to a wider audience. You can read our full review here.

The band is currently working on new material and if it’s anything like The Experiment Interrupted, it’s guaranteed that it will be an exciting and unique listen.
