Soundscape’s A-Z Of Bands: Xandria

Xandria 2013

Did you think we’d struggle for an X? Well, you thought wrong! This week’s featured band for our A-Z is Xandria, a symphonic metal band hailing from Bielefeld in Germany.

The band put out their first full-length release Kill The Sun in 2003 and have since released four more albums since, with their sixth album Sacrificium set to be released in May. Sacrificium is the band’s first release with their new singer Dianne Van Giersbergen, also of Ex Libris, who joined the band in October of last year.

According to the band, Sacrificium will “continue the musical journey and direction” of their last album Neverworld’s End but “will bring in even more of everything people liked” about it. Keep an eye on the site for our review of it a little closer to the release date.

The band will be playing at the Dames Of Darkness festival in Wolverhampton on May 10, as well as a London date the day before at Underworld.
