Soundscape’s A-Z Of Bands: Nightwish

We’ve covered a few more underground bands for our A-Z recently, so it’s time to go big again with this week’s featured band Nightwish!

With an extensive career spanning over 17 years, Nightwish are still going strong even today, even if they have had their share of lineup problems over the years with previous singers Tarja Turunen and Anette Olzon both not quite having amicable departures from the band, but they’re going from strength to strength with their new incredible singer Floor Jansen (ReVamp, After Forever).

The band are currently gearing up to release their brand new live DVD Showtime, Storytime, which is their first release with Floor and also their first release to include Troy Donockley as a full-time member (who has been a session performer on the band’s last few albums) and a brand new trailer has recently been released for it showcasing the song Ghost Love Score which has become somewhat of a signature song for Floor. According to the band’s website, Nightwish will entering the studio in 2014 for their next album, which is slated for release in spring 2015 and is also billed as containing “the longest song in the history of the band so far”. Keep your eyes peeled on the site as we’ll be sure to be covering it on here!
