This week, our featured band is the incredible Brother Firetribe, a glam rock band hailing from Finland.

Formed in 2002, the band boasts a lineup containing members of Nightwish, Kings Of Modesty and Leverage, and have so far released three albums, plus a live DVD.

Starting life called False Metal (taken from the Manowar slogan ‘death to false metal’) the band then changed their name to Brother Firetribe, taken from an in-joke from a description of their music being ‘tennis heavy’ whilst the name of a well known Finnish tennis player Veli Paloheimo translates into English as Brother Firetribe. However, they kept the name False Metal for their 2006 debut album – although it was rereleased in 2008 under the name of Break Out. 2008 saw the release of their second album, Heart Full Of Fire, and a year later, a live DVD followed.

Simply titled Live At Apollo, the material was filmed in April 2009 at their show at Apollo Club in Helsinki, and you can watch a video taken from it above.

More recently, the band released their album Diamond In The Firepit and we described it as a wonderfully crafted album that’s memorable for all the right reasons – you can read our full review here.

The band will be coming to the UK to play Firefest on October 26 in Nottingham – so if you’re in the area, then why not get involved?
